In addition to writing, I am a collage artist, using visual layers to explore the same questions of memory and identity that I write.

I write true stories about family, faith, belonging, and the places that shape who we become.

I am currently at work on my first solo memoir, White Girl Run. Drawing from my experience growing up between two completely different worlds, this book offers a vulnerable look at what happens when you must navigate the meaning of 'home' and find where you truly belong.

My journey into publishing began with Chosen Warrior, a memoir I co-wrote with my Liberian sister, Rosana Schaack. It chronicles her extraordinary path from a disabled village girl to one of Liberia's most prominent advocates for women and children.
