BELONGING
Mixed Media on Paper | 2024
I grew up as a Third Culture Kid, or TCK—a child raised in a culture different from their parents’ own. When I moved to the United States at seventeen, I looked like I belonged, but much of the time I did not feel as though I did.
These pieces explore some of that—the question of where home is, trying to fit in, carrying pieces of one place into another, and never quite knowing which world gets to claim you. The pages came together in ways that probably make more sense to me than anyone else.
